Wine Wednesday - Current Wine Crush - Rosé

I thrive in the summer - the sun, the beach, and the long warm days are simply heaven. Summertime is also my favorite season to try out new white and rosé wines. With that said, my warm weather wine picks continue this week with one wine I will never tire of: a nice chilled Rosé.

A few weeks back, I spotted Brad Pitt on the cover of Wine Spectator, and I thought to myself, “oh geez, another celebrity making wine - or putting their name on one” but, when I saw it was a Rosé from Provence and the price point was reasonable, I knew I needed to give it a try. (Confession - Brad Pitt was my celebrity crush in high school, however this had nothing to do with me wanting to try this wine, wink wink.)

As I poured the lovely salmon colored liquid into my Zalto glass, I wondered if this wine, outside of all the hype, would stand up to my idea of a delicious Rosé. I am happy to report that Miraval certainly did! While my skeptical side was telling me this was all marketing, I could not help but fall in love with this wine. Exhibiting a beautiful nose filled with hints of rose petal and flavors of wild strawberry, white peach, showcasing an absolutely tantalizing minerality with a wonderful viscous texture that finishes long. This Rosé is a blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah and Rolle and is lovely to drink on it’s own, however it would pair beautifully with many dishes, including the dessert we had it with: fresh apple pie.

As I continue my love affair with all that is Rosé, I will share my favorite finds with you along the way.

Cheers,

- L
