Might as well face it you're addicted to... Bubbles?

When one hears the word bubbles, it may conjure up the imgage of blowing bubbles in your backyard as a kid and running around trying to catch them, or watch them just peacefully float away in the sky...

Well, this is not what I think of when I think of bubbles. When somone mentions bubbles around me, the first thing that pops (no pun intended) into my mind is Champagne! I have to say, if I have a vice, it is Champagne, or sparkling wine when you need a Champange counterpart.

I remember my first experience with an expensive Champagne. I was at a dinner at a "famous" winemakers home - I will not mention names - and he said he was going to pull out a special bottle from his celler. Well that he did! While I waited with raw excitement like a child waits for Santa, he came down out of the cellar and had pulled a vintage Nicolas Feuillatte Palmes d'Or Rose Champagne. Needless to say, I was hooked! I have never been so impressed by something and knew this was going to be the beginning of a long love affair - If love at first 'taste' exists - this was it.

I have tasted many Champagnes and sparkling wines since 'my first', and I have to say that out of all the beauties I have tasted, Ruinart Brut Rose is my go to! As for sparkling wine it is Mumm Brut Rose, Napa Valley - I am always shocked but you can pick this up at Trader Joes for a mere $16.99!

Ruinart Brut Rose Tasting Notes: Dry, with crisp acidity - notes of wild strawberry, almond extract, with a long finish and notes of nuttiness.

While I will always drink the bubbly, my next goal is to visit Champage - this is in my top ten and I know I will be there someday savoring the special stuff!
